Every time I start to learn a new programming language I want to make it fun, so I begin by writing a game.

Thanadar and grand strategy

Thanadar.com is the largest project I was involved in the last years while working at Smart Lizard, so I wanted to make some remarks about the technical and programming challenges I was involved as a developer.

I was in charge of the client side of the project, game client as in server and front end sides. Being a tick based game (meaning a turn based but for MMO’s), the main processing is done at the tick run, and the web application is considered the client.

CSS3 multiple background images from the same sprite sheet

A simple tehnique used to make multiple backgrounds for an element, using a single spritesheet.

It can be done of course multiple ways, this one is best suited for icons/buttons or other small pictures, not recommended with big pictures because of the black part of sprite.
